BEHIND OUR POSITIVE-FIRST DOG TRAINING METHOD

Flippin’ Pawsome Dog Training & Care, LLC was founded in 2017 by Jackie Callan after she left the corporate world to return to the world of working with dogs.  She grew up into the dog life with a family filled with German Shepherd Dogs and American Pit Bull Terriers, where she caught the dog training bug taking her dog to obedience and agility classes and showing as an AKC Junior Handler.  She went on to work with dogs professionally, leaving for the corporate life, then deciding to start her own dog training business without the macho “K9” rhetoric.

Jackie believes in the importance of “positive first” dog training and that the biggest part of dog ownership and training is to build a true working relationship with your dog.  A dog should listen because you’re a team, not out of fear.

She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Sirius Puppy Training School graduate, Herm Sprenger Safety Certified and certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. She presently resides in Newark, NJ with her three dogs:  Selena the APBT, Charlie the Elderly Cockapoo and Magnum the Miniature Pinscher mix.  There’s also Blanche the Cat, who is employed as “Professional Distraction” when training dogs.

Flippin’ Pawsome Dog Training & Care, LLC serves North and Central New Jersey along with NYC.  Though Board & Train clients have come from other states and southern New Jersey to train with Jackie.
